Since childhood I have been fascinated by ancient religions, magic and mysticism. Then and now, Ancient Egypt has remained at the zenith of this fascination. Thanks to Reading Rainbow, as a kid I carried a copy of Aliki's "Mummies Made in Egypt" everywhere I went, and doodled hieroglyphs in all my sketchbooks.

Animation is also a great love of mine, and particularly cel-drawn animation rife with optical effects ensconced within the energetic grain of 35mm film. Therefore, my recent discovery of Scottish animator Lesley Keen's remarkable feature length film, "RA: The Path of the Sun God" has been a revelation.

This short uses clips from Keen's stunning animations, for which I have composed original music inspired by the images.
