The Fungus Realm: Great Spore Snail

One of the most mysterious and least accessible of the Cult Realms, the Fungus Realm, is an enclosed, swamp-like jungle filled with curious plants and saturated by poisonous vapors and mists. Unlike many of the other realms, there is no separation in the Fungus Realm between the environment and its inhabitants. Giant mushrooms, spores and animate membranes of creeping slime form a peaceful, collective intelligence at the center of which is the Düthyr of the Fungus Realm: The Great Spore Snail. After emerging from its crystal egg impossible eons ago, the Snail traced a path over a large patch of earth, tracing a gigantic sigil or mandala with its slime trail. The entire Fungus Realm emerged from this silme-mandala and mixed with the existing ancient vegetation and forests. Since that time, the Snail has remained deep in meditation, reverberating with the collective consciousness of its fungus subjects. Due to the poisonous atmosphere, very few outsiders have ever survived entering the Fungus Realm.
